The story

Designed by
Dr Mal McKay.

Three decades on the Tweed Coast. A decade lecturing TCM at Endeavour College. Two thousand four hundred patients. Meridiann is the translation of that practice into a daily ritual.

Mal didn't choose acupuncture. It chose him.

For more than thirty years, Dr Malcolm McKay has walked alongside patients across the Tweed Coast — from Pottsville to Murwillumbah — helping them move from pain and exhaustion back to living fully. He spent a decade lecturing Traditional Chinese Medicine at Endeavour College alongside private practice. The clinic he and Therasia built in Pottsville reflects what they have learned in those decades: that the best care happens when a practitioner has the time to listen properly, look at the whole picture, and build a real plan.

How Meridiann happened

Meridiann started with a question Mal had been asked, in different ways, for years.

"What can I do at home, between sessions?"

For chronic patterns — period symptoms, fatigue, the long arc of perimenopause — clinical sessions matter. But the real change happens in the daily rhythms between them. The body learns through repetition. The mind needs a structure that holds when motivation runs out.

Most home wellness products are built by people who don't see the cases. They get the surface right — the look, the language, the marketing — and miss what actually moves the needle in clinical practice. Mal wanted to build something different.

The clinical inputs

The system that became Meridiann came from three sources:

What Mal said about it

"I've spent thirty years watching patterns. The body doesn't lie. Meridiann is the closest I've come to giving someone — anyone, anywhere — what I'd give them in clinic, between sessions, every day."

Where Mal still practises

Mal is, first and last, a clinician. He continues to see patients at Pottsville Acupuncture at 87–89 Tweed Coast Road, Hastings Point — and he is AHPRA-registered with the Chinese Medicine Board of Australia in that clinical capacity. Meridiann is a product, not a clinical service: it does not replace seeing a practitioner, and Mal will tell you that himself.

Credentials

And what Mal sees ahead

The Women's Health Programme is the first of several. Energy, sleep, recovery — each is queued, each is being worked through with the same clinical rigour. Mal is not in a hurry. The body isn't, either.

"This isn't a sprint. It's the next twenty years of how people take care of themselves at home. We have time to get it right."

A note on the relationship between Meridiann and Pottsville Acupuncture: Pottsville Acupuncture is the clinic Mal runs on the Tweed Coast NSW. Meridiann is a separate, standalone wellness product designed for at-home daily use. The clinical experience that shaped Meridiann was built at Pottsville; the product itself is not a clinical service and is not regulated as one.
