What we hold
If you join the waitlist, we hold:
- Your name and email address
- Optional fields you submit (country, programme interest, why-you're-interested note)
- The date you joined and which page you came from (for understanding which content lands)
If you take the quiz, we hold the above plus your quiz responses.
If and when you become a Meridiann customer (post-2027 launch), we hold: your shipping address; your subscription status for pad refills; your in-app intake responses; your daily check-ins, if you choose to record them. App data is stored on-device by default and encrypted in transit when synced.
What we don't hold
- Tracker pixels in our marketing emails
- Third-party advertising cookies
- Health information that isn't necessary for the service we provide
- Anything we are not asked or legally required to hold
What we do with it
We use what we hold to do exactly what you signed up for:
- Send you the things you asked us to send (waitlist updates, journal posts, programme notifications)
- Run the Meridiann service (when you're a customer): adapt the programme to your intake, ship pad refills before they run out, support you when you have a question
- Understand which content actually helps people (in aggregate, never personally)
What we never do
- Sell your data. Not to advertisers. Not to other wellness companies. Not to research collaborators (without your explicit opt-in).
- Use your data for advertising targeting.
- Profile you for purposes other than the service you're paying for.
- Share information with Pottsville Acupuncture as a clinical record. Meridiann is a separate product; clinical records sit with your clinician, not with us.
Research collaboration
If we partner with research groups in the future, we will be transparent about it well in advance, and any participation will be:
- Opt-in only
- Fully de-identified before sharing
- Subject to ethics review
- Withdrawable at any time, without affecting your access to Meridiann
Your rights
Under the Australian Privacy Principles (and equivalent jurisdictions where you live), you have the right to:
- Know what data we hold about you
- Correct it if it's wrong
- Delete it
- Take it with you (data portability)
- Lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner if we don't handle your request well
To exercise any of these: write to privacy@meridiann.com.au.
Data location + security
Data is stored in Australia where possible, and in encrypted form everywhere it travels. Backups are encrypted at rest. Access is limited to the people who genuinely need it to provide the Meridiann service.
If we ever change this
We'll tell you, in plain language, before the change takes effect. We won't bury the change. We won't auto-opt-in.
